Emma Foschi Redmond – the first student enrolled in Clonturk Community College cut the ribbon at the opening of this brand new co-educational second level school – while 48 students and their parents/guardians cheered.
Clonturk Community College, a new City of Dublin Education and Training Board Community College operating in partnership with Educate Together, opened its doors at 10am today Monday 29 August 2016.
Principal Susan Campbell welcomed the students saying “I am delighted and very excited that we have finally reached the day when we welcome you all through these doors. We hope and expect that you will all take full advantage of the many exciting opportunities that Clonturk Community College will offer you over the next few years”
Clonturk Community College will be an innovative and creative learning college. “We are committed to developing a college where students are happy, proud, ambitious and actively involved. We want to provide them with the best education and developmental opportunities based on the experience and education philosophies of City of Dublin Education and Training Board and Educate Together.”
Information and Communications Technology will be an integral part of the learning environment in Clonturk Community College. Modern everyday technology including iPads will be used to develop and enhance students’ creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking skills as they prepare for life, work and leisure in an increasingly technological society.
Clonturk Community College is located on the CDETB campus on the Whitehall Road in the north of the city. This campus also includes Plunket College of Further Education and the CDETB Sports Grounds.
