Teachers who have failed to renew their registration with the Teaching Council will have received a final notice via registered letter from the Council this week. If they fail to renew their registration within one month of the date of the registered letter, it will lapse. The Council does not want to see any teacher go unpaid. That’s why it is critical that no registered teacher allows their registration to lapse. Lapsed registration will result in a teacher’s salary not being paid by the Department of Education & Skills or the Education and Training Boards.
Registration is compulsory since the 28th January 2014 with the commencement of Section 30 of the Teaching Council Act, 2001 by the Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairi Quinn TD.
