FIT students visit LinkedIn

February 16, 2016

The FIT (Fast track to Information Technology) Group from the Transition Centre Youthreach based in Parnell Square, Dublin 2, recently visited the European Headquarters of LinkedIn in Dublin 2. The visit was part of the FIT Work Positive & Work Experience module. The morning consisted of a number of different sessions with LinkedIn Experts.

The students were given a talk on:

  • Recruiter Insights – What Employers are looking for?
  • How LinkedIn can be useful for them as Jobseekers in the future. (This included Interview tips and tricks!!)
  • Each Student was then assigned a mentor to improved their own LinkedIn Profile & get their expert assistance.

The Students really enjoyed the session and benefitted from the experience. The Feedback we received was very positive.

I found this experience very enjoyable and I would love to work for a company like this it seems very warm and welcoming”

I really liked the trip to LinkedIn, it was better than I thought it was going to be. The best part, I thought was with Lisa because she showed us how to use LinkedIn and how to make it better”

Overall I thought that the company visit was very well organised and that everyone there was extremely nice. The atmosphere at LinkedIn showed what a great place it is to work in”

“Overall I thought it was excellent day and I learned a good bit about promoting myself on social media site like LinkedIn. Also was delighted the way they helped me out with my profile”
