The Open Learning Centre at Coláiste Idé, is celebrating its 20th year of service to the people of Finglas and surrounding areas. To mark the occasion a presentation was made to Eugene Finn who was the 10,000 the student to attend the facility. Since its foundation 20 years ago, the Open Learning Centre has facilitated students from all walks of life including: lone parents, house-parents, the unemployed, students with disability, the elderly and early school-leavers; essentially people who are outside of mainstream education.

David Treacy made the presentation to Eugene Finn on behalf of the Open Learning Centre and CDETB.
Fergus O’Rourke, Director, Open Learning Centre, Coláiste Idé said: “Education for us is about innovation and tailoring the programme to the needs of the individual while keeping in mind the practical needs of the workforce in a changing Ireland.
