What a Year 2016 has been in the City.

December 22, 2016

Our winter newsletter has arrived!

It begins by congratulating our new second level school Clonturk Community College who had an extraordinary open day for their 2017 applications on October 4th.

It ends by telling you why we need your help to bring the Community National School Model into the City of Dublin.

In between we tell stories about new libraries, great results and graduations.

We tell about innovative further education and training courses, adult education initiatives, and great sporting and cultural events.

We pay tribute to retiring staff and meet new staff.

We have a special feature (on page 31) from our International Desk.

And we left out the 1916 events. Why?

Because so many important 1916 commemorations happened in our colleges, centres and in head office throughout the year that we decided to do justice to them by bringing out a separate 1916 future edition of the newsletter.

And a quick look at what’s in store in 2017……

So what does 2017 have in store?

On February 7th next we are having our first ever FET City EXPO.  On this day we will bring all of our Further Education Colleges and our Training Centres into one venue – the beautiful Concert Hall in Liberties College, D8 – to demonstrate what we can do.

It’s not just for our own second level schools – every school is welcome.  So if you know someone who is wondering what to do Post Leaving Certificate – send them along for a fun day from 11.30 – 3pm on Tuesday 7th February.

You will learn about everything from Animation to Dog Grooming, Engineering to Food Science, Childcare to Catering and much more.

We will have more information on our FET City Expo coming soon.

Meanwhile you can get a flavour of what’s on offer in CDETB Colleges and Centres across the city here: WINTER NEWSLETTER
