Nora Twomey’s story

Studying Animation at Ballyfermot CFE was the start of Nora Twomey’s journey to the Oscars.

Nora Twomey has been named by New York’s Variety as one of the top ten animators to watch this year. Nora studied animation at Ballyfermot College of Further Education. Her journey has led her to walking the red carpet at the Oscars and working with Angelina Jolie on her latest movie ‘The Breadwinner’. Nora is a founding member of Cartoon Saloon studio, which has enjoyed world-wide success for it’s magical animations that include The Secret of Kells and Song Of The Sea.  She was interviewed recently by Ryan Tubridy on RTE1 who described Ballyfermot CFE as a ‘wonderful institution’.  Nora’s advice to people who are struggling with their career choices during and after school is ‘there are ways – if you’re willing to work and put in the time to get a skill’.
