Retirement of Dr. Rory O’Sullivan – Over 36 years with City of Dublin ETB

December 23, 2022

Rory joined the organisation in November 1986.  During his 36 year career he taught at Whitehall House Senior College, Colaiste Ide Senior College and Ballsbridge College of Further Education.

Rory was then made Deputy Principal of Ballsbridge College in 1995 and took over as Principal of Killester College in 2001.

In recent years Rory has managed the amalgamation of Marino and Killester Colleges as well as their relocation to our Cathal Brugha Street Campus.

Rory has been extremely influential in education both locally and nationally.  One of Rory’s largest contributions to education nationally was helping to establish National Association for Principals & Deputy Principals (NAPD) and then to create the FETCHI (the FET component of NAPD).

He has also been editor of ‘Education Matters’ where he has frequently penned a thought-provoking article.

He has always been an extremely kind and knowledgeable colleague, advisor and friend to all at City of Dublin, and he will be sorely missed.

We wish Rory the best of luck with his retirement and future endeavours.
